PRESERVING THE PAST – BUILDING THE FUTURE
The Jefferson Davis Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was created in 1992 by civic and business leaders to address the revitalization challenges facing the historic Route 1 corridor in Chesterfield County. The fifteen member board of volunteers works collaboratively with the County to develop long term, creative solutions that improve the quality of life for residents, invigorate the existing commercial, industrial and manufacturing sites, create new development opportunities and promote the many historic resources located in this unique area.
The JDA has been successful in forming partnerships with other non-profit organizations and with Chesterfield County to provide safe, affordable housing and neighborhoods, attract new businesses through the state Enterprise Zone program, and preserve and honor our many historic resources.
The JDA recently received the State Neighborhood Organization of the Year award at the Virginia Statewide Neighborhood Conference
